Oscar De La Hoya had a triumphant return to the ring this weekend defeating a tough Arturo Gatti. After several months of inactivity the talented De La Hoya climbed back into the ring to prove that he still possesses the skills that made him a great champion. In a one sided bout De La Hoya stopped a bloodied Gatti in the 5th round.
After suffering a loss against Heavyweight Champion Lennox Lewis, David Tua returned to the ring and emerged victorious in his bout against Danell Nicholson. Tua utilized his trademark power and took out Nicholson in the 6th round.
Half way around the world a 1996 Gold medal winner and young heavyweight prospect Wladimir Klitschko took out journeyman Derrick Jefferson in the second round furthering his chances at a future title shot.
