Dave Hilton finally won a world
title at the age of 37. His family has a long line of boxing greatness
and this only adds another feather to the cap of the Hilton family. Hilton
beat an overrated Dingaan Thobela in a close, but sloppy and unskillful bout.
Hilton has major legal problems in Canada where he was convicted of
sexual abuse of minors. Hilton was sentenced to seven years in prison.
Although he does plan on appealing, the WBC did strip him of his belt.
Unless there is a reversal, don't plan on seeing Dave Hilton fight ever
again.
