This fight is being billed as "The War" and all signs are pointing towards this fight to live up to that billing. First of all, Diego Corrales and Floyd Mayweather Jr. flat out hate each other. There was even a rumor that after the Lewis/Tua fight in November that they got into it at a bar. Since there is no love loss between these two fighters, expect both fighters to be in superb condition. One thing to remember before the fight begins is that Mayweather's hands have been hurt in the past and could be a liability to him in the bout. We at BoxingGurus.com see Floyd Mayweather Jr. to use his speed and quickness and try to out box Diego in the first few rounds. Mayweather Jr. will try to get in, punch and get out as often as possible to try and wear down the more powerful Corrales. But we think the old proverb "you can run, but can't hide" will likely come to fruition. We see Corrales finally catching Mayweather Jr. in the late rounds with one of his big right hooks. When this happens Mayweather Jr. will get hit with a barrage of punches and go down. At some point shortly after this the refree will stop the fight.
Deigo Corrales winner by late round knockout.
